Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and airport pick up

Upon arrival at the airport in Nairobi city, you will be warmly welcomed into Kenya, East Africa’s leading safari destination. Home to breathtaking landscapes, abundant wildlife, and unique cultures, Kenya incredibly has a lot to offer the world.

Your guide in Kenya will pick you up at Jomo Kenyatta Airport and you connect to the hotel in Nairobi city. In the afternoon depending on your arrival time, you can utilize that moment to visit Nairobi central area with focus on the market or simply check in at the hotel and relax.

Day 2: Nairobi to Amboseli – Game drive in the afternoon

Begin your trip early in the morning after breakfast and head off to Amboseli National Park, renowned not only for its huge herds of elephants but also the breathtaking Kilimanjaro volcano views. As you head to the lodge, get a chance to view Africa’s highest mountain also referred to as the rooftop of Africa, rising at an altitude of 5895m.

After lunch, embark on a guided game drive using a 4×4 safari vehicle. Expect the best of true African wilderness experience while you navigate via the park’s woodlands, savannas and wetland areas. Spend the better part the afternoon searching for Amboseli’s wildlife including giraffes, elephants, zebras, elands, and birds. After the game drive, get back to the lodge for relaxation and a night stay.

Day 3 Transfer to Hell’s Gate N/Park

Set off from Amboseli to Hell’s Gate NP about half-day drive in a good mechanical 4×4 vehicle. Enroute, make a stop visit at Naivasha lying in the Great Rift Valley also a birder’s paradise. Have lunch and continue to Hell’s Gate for wildlife viewing or embark on walking excursion to the scenic hot spring.

Day 4: Hell’s Gate to Mt. Longonot

After breakfast, drive for about 1 hour to Mt. Longonot. Arrive early, check in and start the 5 hour hike to the crater’s rim. The crater rim summit offers incredible views of the Great Rift Valley plus Lake Naivasha etc.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park for game viewing & birding excursion

Check out of the lodge in Mount Longonot National Park and transfer to Lake Nakuru NP. This is 2 hour drive and Lake Nakuru NP is most popular for its diverse bird species. En route, a brief stopover will be made to take pictures and viewing the Great Rift Valley and you proceed to the camp/lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, go search for Lake Nakuru National Park natural endowments including Rothschild giraffes, rhinos, lesser and greater flamingos, leopards, pelicans and more.

Day 6: Full day in Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy a hefty breakfast and your private guide will pick you up ready for a long day safari in Lake Nakuru National Park. The morning guided game drive will be perfect done in a 4×4 safari car and a guide. Plenty of the park’s treasures will be encountered, especially millions of flamingo as they flock along the lake shores. Aside from birds, there are different wildlife to be spotted including zebras, cape buffaloes, giraffes, leopards, elands, lions, and waterbucks.

After the morning game viewing session, you will get back for lunch and refreshments at the hotel and proceed for an afternoon session too.

Day 7: Drive to Masai Mara

Have a hot cup of tea/coffee and you will set off for Maasai Mara National Reserve by car. Exit Lake Nakuru National Park with early morning guided game drive to catch up with morning sun risers. Arrive at the Masai Mara early enough, check in at your accommodation and relax.

Day 8: Full day big game exploration in Masai Mara

Get up ready for your long day wildlife excursion in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Depart from the lodge with some pack of lunch and bottled water because you will have a combined morning and afternoon guided game drive. Look out for the big five –elephants, cape buffaloes, lions, leopards, rhinos, plus other mammals like giraffes, zebras, and antelope families.

Day 9: Full day in Masai Mara –explore the Mara River crossing

After breakfast, set off for another long day game excursion with Masai Mara guide and in your comfortable 4×4 tourist vehicle. Today, as you drive towards the Mara River, keep an eye on the reserve’s diverse savanna dwellers. At the Mara River, witness the powerful wildebeest migration as huge herds of wildebeest cross over to the Masai Mara National Reserve in search for pasture and water. In the afternoon, spice your day excursion with the Masai community visit; explore different traditions, cultures of the Masai people.

Day 10: Depart back for Nairobi

Check out of the safari lodge or camp and start driving back to Nairobi capital in a 4×4 tourist car. En-route, you will make a stopover visit to the Maasai village, buy some souvenirs and proceed to Narok for lunch then finally at the airport for departure.
