Spend a full week exploring the wonders of Rwanda and Uganda with experienced local experts. This 7-Day trip takes you to 2 leading great apes’ destinations –Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda and Volcanoes National Park Rwanda. The main highlight will be gorilla trekking spiced by game viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After a warm welcome from your private Uganda guide, begin driving from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park, about 7-8 hours via the enriching Mbarara-Kasese route. En route, make a stopover for photography at the Equator and continue to park to check in at the safari lodge in or nearby. You can drive through the park as you connect to the lodge for relaxation and while in your 4×4 safari car, keep eyes on buffaloes, elephants, birds and other species.
At leisure, take your breakfast and you will catch up with the rest of the visitors for your early morning game drive. Begin your wildlife safari experience taking the Kasenyi sector, an enriching sector for big game encounters –cape buffaloes, large herds of elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, and birds.
Retreat from the Kasenyi sector guided game drive and enjoy a leisurely lunch at your respective lodges. Connect to the Kazinga channel for a boat cruise excursion with a guide and spend 2-3 hours. As you navigate along the channel, plenty of aquatic species shouldn’t be missed to spot, such as hippos, crocodiles and water birds like pelicans.
With a private guide, begin your trip to Bwindi National Park in Southwestern Uganda. The Kasenyi sector – Ishasha – Bwindi road transfers comes with exciting animal sightings at Ishasha, especially the tree climbing lions, birds and topis, etc. The incredible views will be accompanied by bush lunch meal and you continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for relaxation.
After breakfast, you will get briefed about gorilla trekking guidelines and regulations at Buhoma sector. The park official will allocate a gorilla family to every group consisting of eight (8) guests and an experienced park guide will be present to lead you on a search for these great apes. The park guide will let you enjoy a face-to-face encounter with a family of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, observing how they behave and socialize.
Return to the park offices to be awarded a trekking certificate and continue to the lodge for relaxation and enjoy some refreshments. Late in the evening, exit the lodge with local expert taking you to the Batwa community for a cultural experience.
Use today mainly for you to set off from Bwindi National Park via Kabale to Katuna border. Cross the border to Rwanda and continue with a scenic drive up to Ruhengeri to check in at the gorilla lodges around or inside Volcanoes National Park.
In the morning after breakfast, expect to be at Kinigi offices early enough to be briefed. Today’s primate adventure options will revolve around golden monkey or mountain gorilla trekking. You will begin the search for your lovely primates at 8:00am with the park guide –golden monkey trek takes between 2 and 4 hours while gorilla trekking takes from 2-6 hours which include one hour for up close and personal with your apes.
Once you get back to the lodge, relax and meet the local expert for an afternoon/evening cultural visit to Iby’Iwacu village.
Today, you will make your to Kigali capital city of Rwanda, the world’s renowned cleanest city. Your trip will take 2-3 hours and get the best of the scenic views of the countryside hills.
While at Kigali city, go for a short city excursion taking you to Gisozi / Kigali memorial Centre, city market, presidential palace museum and other shopping centers. After the Kigali expedition, get dropped off at the airport for departure back home- bringing an end the 7 Days Rwanda and Uganda gorilla safari.
